Accessibility

We want this site to work for everyone, including people using a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification, or a device set to reduce motion.

Last updated: [DATE]

1. What we aim for

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA. [CONFIRM: whether to state this as a formal commitment, and whether any law applies to us in the United States or the United Kingdom.]

2. What we have done

  • Every part of the site can be reached and used with a keyboard alone, and what has focus is always visible.
  • A skip link is the first thing a keyboard reaches, and it jumps past the header to the content.
  • Text contrast meets WCAG AA. Three colours in the original design did not, and were darkened before launch.
  • Every control is a real button or link, so a screen reader announces what it is and whether it is pressed.
  • The pieces you tick on the home page report their state, not just a tick you can see.
  • A device set to reduce motion gets no motion: nothing fades, the moving banner stops and wraps, and the hero video stays on its still frame.
  • The page is readable with JavaScript switched off.
  • Images that carry no meaning are hidden from screen readers rather than described pointlessly.
  • Form fields have real labels, and an error is announced when it appears, not only when you reach it.
  • The site works down to a 375 pixel wide screen with no sideways scrolling.

3. Where we know we fall short

Being honest about what is not done is part of this.

  • On a narrow phone, under 440 pixels, the booking button in the top bar moves into the menu rather than sitting beside it. Every link is still one tap away.
  • The live demo on the home page is a separate product, shown inside a frame. We have not audited it to the same standard.
  • No audit by a third party, and no testing with assistive technology users, has been carried out yet.

[CONFIRM: whether an independent audit is wanted before launch.]

4. Telling us about a problem

If something here does not work for you, write to info@dntldesk.co and say what you were trying to do and what happened. We will reply within [CONFIRM: proposed five working days] and tell you what we are going to do about it.

If you need something on this site in another format, ask and we will send it.

5. Dashboards we build

This statement covers this website. Accessibility for a dashboard we build for your practice is agreed with you as part of that work.
